Marco Island Fire Station & Emergency Operations Center #50
Serving as both Fire Station 50 and Marco Island's Emergency Operations Center, this 24,000-square-foot facility was designed to support emergency response, disaster resilience, and daily operations. The station includes modern living quarters, administrative offices, three drive-through apparatus bays, and a dedicated training tower for first responders. Engineered to withstand Category 5 hurricanes and equipped with a hardened safe room, independent utilities, and the city's primary data center, the facility is designed to remain operational when the community needs it most.
Formation Interiors developed the interior finish palette and furniture specifications with the goal of creating a space that feels both timeless and durable. Inspired by the classic fire station aesthetic familiar to generations of Americans, the selected finishes balance warmth with resilience while supporting the demanding needs of a 24-hour emergency services environment. Furniture was carefully specified to withstand continuous daily use, with the majority of workstations and ancillary furnishings provided were selected for their proven performance and longevity. Dining chairs were selected for exceptional durability, including a 400-pound weight capacity, ensuring they comfortably accommodate every member of the department while standing up to years of service.
