Have you recently opened a second office for your business or signed a lease for a business space? Do your employees feel like they work at a company that is different than your competitors, that tells your unique story?

Values, mission, and story-telling are hard enough to put into words – how can you communicate all of that with your space?

PAINT

The go-to for a big change for little wallet impact. Color has the power to effect emotions and convey meaning when we see them. Have you noticed what colors banks usually use? Red and Blue. What about gyms and fitness centers? Oranges and Greens probably make a big showing. One of these businesses wants to be seen as a place you can trust leaving your money. The other one suggests youth, zeal, fun, and health. Color can communicate these things for your business too! What do you want to say?

Locations to consider for your brand’s color:

  • Behind the reception desk

  • On a wall in the break room

  • On a feature wall in your meeting rooms or conference rooms

  • Apply a variant of your brand color to the restrooms or mother’s rooms

RE-UPHOLSTERY

Select fabric from commercial-grade sources. These are typically more durable and resilient than residential textiles. Fabric durability is typically measured in 2 tests called the Wyzenbeek Test and the Martindale Test. These tests measure how long until wear is visible on the tested fabric. Residential fabrics typically range between 20,000 – 50,000 double rubs. Commercial grade fabrics can be between 80,000 up to 500,000 double rubs!

Consider updating these pieces:

  • Task chair seats and backs

  • Mobile pedestal cushion tops

  • Break Room seating / lounge furniture

  • Conference room chairs

CARPET TILE

A simple update that you may be able to have your landlord cover! See if your landlord will cover new flooring in your contract, or when tenant upgrades are scheduled. Your landlord likely has the existing carpet information. Ask them for it so you can see if your carpet has a coordinating series that would match your brand.

Areas to consider using accent flooring:

  • Entry way/reception

  • Corridor or main walkway through the space

  • Meeting Rooms

  • Break Rooms

WALL-COVERING, DIGITAL

If your brand is bold and you are looking for something edgier than paint, look to digitally printed wallcovering! Manufacturers can easily work with your existing branding images or can help you choose from their libraries of thousands of images to select and edit one you’d like to match your brand vision.

These can be used:

  • Behind the reception desk

  • Meeting Rooms

  • Corridor Walls

  • Built-In Areas (Booths, quiet spaces)

ACOUSTICAL FELT

Felt can offer you multiple bangs for your buck. You can get brand color, pattern, interest, and acoustical privacy all in one. Designs range from flat brick tiles that you can get monochrome or multicolored and make your own design, from something with texture and depth. The design possibilities with acoustical tiles are endless!

Recommended spaces:

  • Meeting Rooms

  • Private Offices

It doesn’t take much to make your office or business space feel like YOUR space. These solutions can be part of an update that can happen throughout a weekend or part of an entire renovation.
